Learning to Shear

As most of you know, in the past year we have started raising sheep.  Our breeds are all natural colored of the Rambouillet and Columbia breeds.  Prior to this endeavor we raised Angora goats and did the shearing ourselves.  Well we can tell you that sheep are much different than the goats and a might bit easier as well.  This past weekend my husband gave it a go to start the shearing on our small flock.  This fall the remaining few will be short after fall lambing.

Here are a couple photos.

I will be having each fleece tested for micron count and some will be offered for sale this summer.  If you would like to be put on an email notification list please email me goatgirl@ridgedalefarms.com.
